Day 1 :
Check-in in a 3-star hotel. Welcome drink, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2 : The Dordogne Valley
10:00 : Guided tour of Château des Milandes (15th -19th century). Neogothic Architecture, period furniture, coats of arms, stained glass windows, Josephine Baker Museum and a falconry show.
12:00 : Lunch at the Château restaurant.
15:00 : Marqueyssac is the most visited garden in the Perigord located 9km from Sarlat. Imagine 150000, perfectly pruned, boxwood trees planted in the 19th century on a rocky promontory dominating the Dordogne Valley.
16:30 : Depart direction La Roque-Gageac : one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France, nestled between the holm oaks on the cliffside, the castles and ochre houses with their flower gardens are reflected in the Dordogne River. A small town with a population of 1500.
17:00 :Boat trip on the Dordogne River with commentary..
Return to hotel for Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3 : Bergerac, its wines, and Proumeyssac cave
10:00 :Guided tour of Bergerac. Walk through the streets of the old town and discover its history and architecture. La maison des Vins (Wine centre) and its treasures: the Récollets cloister. the cellars, « senses room » and a tasting session at the end of the screening of a superb film on winegrowing.
12:00 : Lunch
14:30 : Gourmet visit to the Château de Monbazillac (16th century). The castle is located at the heart of the prestigious vineyard of the same name, and has a wonderful panoramic view over the Dordogne valley – enjoy a tasting of the fabulous nectar.
17:30 : Guided tour of Proumeyssac cave. Christened the “Crystal Cathedral”, Proumeyssac is today the largest cave to be visited in the Perigord. Access the immense vault through a tunnel and discover the exceptional beauty and magnitude of the crystallisations.
Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 : Truffles and the Cave with a Hundred Mammoths
10:00 : Visit to a truffle plantation at St Cyprien. The objective of the visit is that everybody should be able to find a truffle growing wild!
12:00 : Lunch with the tryffle grower
(Sample menu: welcome drink with truffle buttered toasts; fine slices of slightly salted truffles accompanied by a sweet local wine; scrambled eggs with truffles; salad and cheese; homemade dessert with seasonal fruits; 1/4l wine and coffee, water).
15:00 : Visit the Grotte de Cent Mammouths at Rouffignac, Take the little train along the 8km cavern where the galleries contain 158 mammoths, woolly rhinoceros and bison drawn and engraved about 13000 years ago.
17:00 : free time in Ley Eyzies de TayacThe village is known as the World Capital of Prehistory and it is here that the discovery of Cro Magnon was made.

Day 5 : Caviar and Périgueux, the city of History
10:00 : Guided tour of the Domaine piscicole at Neuvic. Discover the techniques of breeding baeri sturgeon used In the production of Aquitaine caviar. Visitors will learn about egg extraction and caviar production and end the tour with a caviar tasting.
12:00 : Lunch in Périgueux
15:00 : Tour of Périgueux. Passing by the ancient Gallo Roman city, Vesunna, the Medieval and Renaissance town, to the grand 18th and 19th century edifices, Périgueux offers more than 2000 years of history with 39 listed Historical Monuments. In one of the largest protected areas in France, the Byzantine Cathedral of Saint Front, a major stop on the Chemins de St Jacques de Compostelle (St James Way), has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1998.

Day 6 : Sarlat and Lascaux IV
9:30 : Guided tour of the medieval city nestling in the valley. Discover the warm limestone buildings with stone slab roofs. Sarlat, with its remarkable heritage, is the European city with the largest number of listed buildings per sq.km and has a 3-star rating in the Michelin guide. Free time at the market (Wednesday and Saturday only).
12:00 : Lunch at the farmhouse inn des Genestes at St Geniès followed by a farm visit.
15:00 : Lascaux IV Visit The International Centre of Parietal Art of Montignac-Lascaux. Take a stroll through the village of Saint Amand de Coly where the 12th century fortified Abbey is considered the most beautiful fortified church in the Perigord.
Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day7 : Casltes and gardens
10:00 : Château de Commarque. Monsieur Hubert de Commarque, owner of the site, will greet you. All around Commarque there are testimonies left by prehistoric man. Not far from here Palaeolithic men abandoned two well-known Female statuettes « Venus de Sireuil » and « Venus de Laussel ».
12:00 : Lunch
15:00 : Guided tour of the Eyrignac Gardens at Salignac Eyvigues These exceptional French gardens, listed Historical Monuments, were created 40 years ago in the spirit of the 18th century and thus inspired by Italy. Essentially planted with beech, yew, boxwood and cypress, it is a green garden considered to be one of the most beautiful in France. The newly created rose garden adds poetry and lightness to the gardens. The white roses stand out from the green Backdrop, all linked together by the running water in 5 ponds. Michelin Guide***.
