Prehistory day in the Vézère Valley

The programme :
Guided tour of the site of Roque St Christophe
. Remarkable for its powerful rock formations, the number of habitats and how long ago man occupied it, this site is of a rare and wild beauty.

These natural cavities were occupied by man since prehistoric times and then modified to become a fort and a city from the Middle Ages until the Renaissance.

Halt at Saint Léon sur Vézère. One of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France", Saint Léon Sur Vézère is situated on a loop of the Vézère River. Dominated by the Côte de Jor it has all the typical charm and authenticity appertaining to the medieval villages in the Perigord Noir with warm sand stone, pitched Roofs, a maze of narrow alleyways and the river.
