An exceptional day in the Périgord Noir

The programme:

- Visit Lascaux IV: for the first time, Lascaux is fully revealed.
A complete replica traces the discovery of the famous decorated cave. The opening of Lascaux International Centre of Parietal Art (also called Lascaux 4) marks the beginning of a new adventure combining the emotion of ancestral art and technological prowess.
12H: Lunch in Sarlat (not included)

- Free time in Sarlat – discover the warm limestone buildings with stone slab roofs. Sarlat, with its remarkable heritage the largest number of listed buildings per sq. km and has a 3*** rating in the Michelin guide.

- Château de Castelnaud (12th – 16th century). A listed Historical Monument since 1966 the fortified castle is dedicated to the art of war in the Middle Ages. Discover an important collection of weapons and armoury, furniture and life size reconstructions of war engines. During the visit there is a firing of a trebuchet. This demonstration shows the most powerful war machine of the middle Ages in action. In order to conserve the castle the trebuchet used is on a scale 1/3.
