Day 2 : The imposing silhouette of the Hautefort castle overlook the village as well as the valley of Bauze and Lourde, two anfluent of Auvézère.
In the 17th century, the former medieval fortress of Bertrand de Born turn into a
pleasure palace, mixing medieval defence and a classical corps de logis edited between 1630 and 1670.

Day 3 : Travassac, guided visit of the slate of Corrèze.
You will discover the print leave by the slate since the 17th century. Let us guide you in this single framework through the seven vein of Travassac where mineral and vegetal vlends harmoniously.
On the site, a slate will show you the ancestral gestures which allow to transfom the stone in an unrivalled reputation slate mine.

Depart from Pompadour via Uzerche, Vézère’s gorge and Vigeois.
Free stop in Pompadour, the city of la Marquise with its 15th century castle. Louis XV of France acquire it in 1745 and offer it to his favorite, the famous Marquise de Pompadour. In love with horses, she created the first private stud farm in the stable of the castle. This is also the second national stud farm in surface right after the stud farm or Pin.
Return to the valley of Auvézère with a walk through Ségur-le-Château (classified as one of the most beautiful village in France). Dinner and accommodation in a 3-star or 4-star hotel.
