Château de Biron
The Gontaut Biron family has owned the castle for almost a thousand years. Modifications to the castle over the years can be linked to events and changing fortunes of this illustrious family. Biron is an architectural lesson and today presents a group of Buildings whose diversity not only testifies to the past power of The Gontaut-Biron family but also to the extraordinary talent and Fantastic inspiration of the best builders of each era. The first of the three main stages of development can be linked to the Middle century, and the third, dating from the final years of the 16th century, and the third, dating from the final years of the 16th century nearly collapsed.
