At the heart of prehistoric site and decorated cave

Day 1 : Understand the Prehistory.
Arrived in afternoon in hotel situated in or near Eyzies, you will be welcomed in the International pole of Prehistory for a presentation of the architectural heritage of the Vézère valley.
Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 : From Montignac to Eyzies.
Polychromatic paint, sculptures and concentration of Palaeolithic art.
You will visit Lascaux cave II (facsimile of the Lascaux cave), technologic exploit where the relief are reproduced in the smallest details and polychromatic paint realised like 17 000 years ago. After lunch, you will go in the valley of the Beune for the discovery of l’Abri de Cap Blanc, prehistoric site where wonderful sculpture of horses and bisons back date to more than 15 000 years form a monumental frieze unique in Périgord. Your afternoon will end by the visit of the Prehistory national museaum which gather the most important palaeolithic collection in France
Dinner and overnigh stay.

Day 3 : Shelters and engraving of our ancestors.
One of the most biggest shelter of this region which has hosted thousands of years of human occupation of the Périgordian final until the Middle Magdalenian welcomes you for this early morning: l’Abri of Laugerie Haute. In the valley of Gorges d’Enfer, it’s the Fish Shelter that’s about 25,000 years old. After lunch, you will visit the Grotte de Rouffignac, where 158 mammoths, bison... were drawn and engraved about 13,000 years ago.
